Coronavirus

The Child and Adolescent Clinic is open and ready to serve you!!  We continue to follow the highest standards of cleaning and sanitation to keep our clinic clean and safe for your family.  All of our pediatricians and patient care staff are vaccinated, and wear protective gear to prevent spread of infection.

We offer COVID-19 vaccination for our patients ages 5 and up.  Please call to make an appointment, as we continue to practice social distancing for your protection.  We have dedicated space for vaccination to reduce your child's contact with others.  If you have questions, please call to make an appointment with your PCP to decide together the best way forward for your child.

There is no waiting in the reception area – families are brought straight from the car to the exam room after a phone check in. Every exam room is thoroughly disinfected after each visit, and our common areas are kept clean throughout the day.

We have divided our patient care areas into well patient areas and  sick patient areas to minimize the chance of exposure.  Well patients include well child exams, medication checks, musculoskeletal issues, and similar well issues, providing everyone attending the appointment is fever free and has no symptoms of illness.   Well checks continue to be important for all children, but especially for children 0-4 years old and 10-12 years old. These are vaccine visits, and many of the routine vaccines protect lung health and immunity.  Please contact us if you feel your child is behind on vaccines and we will guide you for next steps.

Patients with fever or respiratory symptoms will wait in their vehicles to minimize exposure to others, and may enter the clinic through an alternate door. Appointments are spaced out to allow more time to disinfect exam rooms and provide for social distancing.

If your child is ill and you have personal concerns about visiting the clinic, please call and speak to our Advice office.  All of our pediatricians are available for Video Visits or Phone Appointments for those who are not able to come in to the clinic.  Whether in person or by video visit, we are committed to seeing all sick patients the same day whenever possible.

There are a few things you can do to keep your family healthy:

  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If soap and water are not available, use hand sanitizer. Look for one that is 60% or higher alcohol-based.
  • Keep your children away from others who are sick and keep them home if they are ill.
  • Teach children to cough and sneeze into a tissue (and make sure to throw it away after each use!) or to cough and sneeze into their arm or elbow, not their hands.
  • Clean and disinfect your home as usual using regular household cleaning sprays or wipes.
  • Avoid touching your face; teach your children to do the same.
  • Avoid travel to highly infected area

COVID is an ever-changing situation and we will update our information as it comes available.  We are privileged to take care of your child and family, and will continue to work together during this healthcare crisis.  Thank you for your support and understanding.
