Telehealth
What is Telehealth?
Telehealth, or a “virtual visit,” is a consultation with one of our physicians via video conferencing. This option is convenient, allows your child to be seen without coming into our office, and provides care by your regular pediatrician (who knows your child’s full history, and has access to their medical chart). However, as we cannot listen to their lungs, see their ears, feel their bellies, or do labs...we do not routinely offer visits by telehealth. We want to make sure that we are providing the best care possible and for the vast majority of visits we feel your child should be evaluated in-person. While we prefer to see children for mental health concerns in person as there is no substitute for eye to eye contact and body language communication, we are sometimes open to telehealth for mental health conditions on a case by case basis once reviewed by your PCP.
Appointments for telehealth visits can be made through our front desk (please note appointment will require PCP approval before we can schedule).
Please contact your insurer to confirm coverage prior to booking an appointment.
Before Your Appointment
- Write down any questions you have, as you might forget them during the telemedicine visit
- Ensure that your home internet provider has adequate bandwidth for the video visit and that your phone is set to alert when you receive the text at appointment time.
